Toby is Moving to New Paid Plans

We understand that for some of you, this is a change. Toby has always been about simplifying your workflow, and we’re incredibly grateful for the support, feedback, and loyalty you’ve shown us over the years. But now, we need to make an important shift in order to keep Toby alive and growing.

We’re a small team of six working diligently to keep Toby running while staying lean. Without this change, we won’t be able to continue working on the product we all love. For us to continue sustaining Toby, we need to shift into these new paid plans. Without this change, Toby may not survive past its current form.

We want Toby to continue evolving, improving, and delivering value for all of you. By making this pivot to paid plans, we’ll be able to keep innovating, fixing issues, and introducing new features to help make your work easier and more organized. These plans aren’t just about revenue—they’re about securing Toby’s future and ensuring it thrives for everyone who depends on it.

You can upgrade at any point, but these changes will not be applied until November 12th, 2024. If you have not upgraded your plan, you will automatically be transitioned into the Starter Plan.

Yes, We’ll Still Have a Free Plan

We understand that not everyone is ready for a paid plan, which is why we’re continuing to offer a Starter plan at a reduced capacity. This plan will provide access to Toby’s core features with a limit on the number of tabs and resources you can save. By offering this option, we can support our broader community while focusing on growth and sustainability.

We conducted in-depth interviews with users from all over the world and gathered insights through surveys to shape the pricing and features for each plan. We chatted with people from Switzerland, to China, to New Zealand, and even right here at home in Canada. A special shoutout to all the users who helped guide us through this process—your feedback was essential in helping us find the perfect balance.

For those continuing with us and supporting this new chapter, we can’t express enough how much your support means. Our small, dedicated team of six is committed to making Toby better, more powerful, and to becoming an even more integral part of your productivity toolkit. This change ensures we can continue doing the work we love and keep Toby moving forward.
